Resilience & Growth

Pushing beyond the normal “bounce back” narrative, Resilience & Growth dives deep into the practices that allow you to develop amidst life’s greatest challenges. Exploring techniques from the earliest wisdom traditions to the newest science of today, Resilience & Growth provides a framework for allowing stress to “level you up” rather than “weigh you down”. This course is designed for those who have to perform to precision under high stress conditions.

De-escalation for Responders

The term de-escalation has about as much hype as emotional intelligence had moving into the 21st century. In a rapidly evolving world where tensions appear to be higher by the day, everyone is looking for the tools to “calm people down”. Many “quick-fix” tool kits often ignore what creates “escalation” in the first place. De-escalation for Responders provides a framework to understand the physiology of heightened situations and provides the tools for reversing the effects.

De-escalation for Responders - Train the Trainer

Equip your team with the skills necessary to deliver the 8-hour De-escalations for Responders within your own organization. This four-day course exposes participants to the curriculum they will be delivering, and goes beyond the traditional TTT standard by preparing new instructors with a deep understanding of advanced facilitation and improvisation. Your team will walk away from this experience transformed, understanding the simplicity of de-escalation in a new way.

FTO: Fieldguide to Obstacles

Field Training Officers are expected to develop new officers, accounting for different skillsets, personality types, levels of development and generational differences. Too often they receive the bare minimum of training in developing others. Because of that, FTO’s often fall into the manager and mentor role, only accounting for the lowest levels of student development. FTO: Fieldguide to Obstacles is an FTO Masterclass on leading, coaching and improvisation. This class is offered as an 8-hour basic course or 2-day advanced course, arming FTO’s with new skills for developing others.

Combatting Manipulation for Correctional Staff

Too often we put people into a role with the assumption that they will “make the right decision”; not accounting for the conditions that often influence why people make wrong decisions. We rarely train our correctional staff to handle the psychological conditions of working inside the walls. Combatting Manipulation provides an understanding of our vulnerabilities, an acceptance of our flaws and the tools to recognize and address any level of manipulation. Until we train our correctional staff, we will continue to see favors, inappropriate relations, smuggling, and other criminal activity in our correctional institutions.
